Special General Meeting February 26 - Potential Amalgamation Discussion
A special general meeting will be held on February 26th at 7:00 p.m., where members will vote on whether to pursue the amalgamation process with Branch 24. This is NOT a vote to amalgamate but a vote on whether to explore the possibility of amalgamation further.
We understand that the timeline is short, and some members may be surprised by this news. The urgency of this matter is at the request of Branch 24. They are seeking to transfer their assets and membership to another branch to continue supporting veterans and their programs.
To ensure a thorough review, a three-person committee has been formed to study the process. Members with concerns or questions can email them at amalgamation@rcl138.ca. Please note that emails will not receive direct replies but will be forwarded to the committee for review.
Thank you for your understanding. We strongly encourage all members to attend this important meeting and participate in the decision on whether to proceed with exploring amalgamation.

Miscalculation of Disability Pensions Class Action Settlement
Are you a current or former member of the Canadian Armed Forces or Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or their spouse, common-law partner, survivor, dependent or executor of their estate, who received disability benefits from Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) between 2003 and 2023? If so, you may be a Class Member and qualifiable for compensation from a class action settlement related to alleged miscalculations of disability pensions and benefits.
Class Members with an existing payment relationship with VAC will automatically receive the compensation for which they are qualifiable through the usual payment process. These Class Members do not have to submit a claim form to receive payment.
Class Members who do not have an existing payment relationship with VAC must submit a Claim Form or they will not receive compensation.
The deadline to submit a claim form is 19 March 2025. [Link]
